Physics Introduction

It is a frequent asked question of why do we need to study and what is physics. And my answer for that is simple, "everything," everything in life is physics by explaining how the universe works.. When you watch a move by D.C or Marvel, or read a science friction novel, it is physics that make the production attractive. It can be tough at the start of studying physics, but this is the subject that consists fancy phenomena you see in real life experiences.

How to study Physics

Physics is a subject based on concepts, especially for the IB curriculum, it focuses on the conceptual understanding. So I suggest a few approaches that I use to study physics and review for exams. Some of the approaches are introduced in the physics content page, and here I will be more detail.

  • Study before the class: Read through the textbook and take notes before your teacher introduces the topic. It will be so much easier if you have done some pre-study. When reading a textbook, remember to take notes and finish problems in the book. Also, it is more efficient for students to complete questions in books first, then do IB QuestionBank as a revision for your exams.
  • Take Note: Please take notes reading your textbooks and when you are in class. Your notebook needs to be organized, and a section for common misconceptions and some typical problems is highly recommended. The way I take notes is usually divided into three parts. The first part is pre-study, the second part is teachers' lectures, and the last part is for contents I am confused about. After finishing homework and checking answers, go back to your note and see which part of the content you are confused about and take note of it.
  • IB QuestionBank: Go through problems in the IB QuestionBank before exams as a revision. Look through the mark scheme if you are confused about some problems.
  • Problem Collections: Collect the problems you are struggling with and problems you get wrong in your test and homework. This collection can be used as a source for your revision before exams, and it also can be a way for you to check your understanding about a particular topic.
